Dear Valued Customer,
We are writing to update you on HUME’s actions in response to COVID-19, and to confirm that we remain open for business and are ready to assist with your supply needs. HUME has moved quickly to implement several safeguards to minimise risk of COVID-19 transmission and protect the health and safety of our employees, customers, and suppliers. These safeguards include:
· Customer orders/deliveries/pick-ups and meetings – We encourage phone / email ordering where possible and where meetings are necessary, we are using social distancing measures and video conferencing. As for deliveries, proof of delivery (PoD) methods will be adjusted to reduce physical contact.
· Visiting our customers on construction sites – Our sales teams and supplier technical teams are using social distancing measures and limiting the number of persons attending these meetings. Prior to such meetings, our teams are asking a series of questions to qualify a safe environment for the meeting to take place.
· Supply chain – We are in contact with our key supply partners to ensure recovery capabilities in the event of any disruption to business operations focused on supply chain. We remain ready and able to support the business continuity for our valued customers in these challenging times.
· Hygiene and other precautionary steps – All of our employees, suppliers, and customers are constantly reminded to practice good hygiene which includes thorough hand washing, the use of face masks, and social distancing. Additionally, we have postponed or cancelled most domestic and international travel.
We acknowledge that this is a challenging time. Like the broader Australian business community, we are taking these new and necessary measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff, our customers, our suppliers, and the general community.
We will continue to update our internal processes in line with Australian Government guidance, and such changes will be communicated as required. For daily updates on COVID-19, visit health.gov.au, and please remember their advice that if you have travelled overseas or been in contact with a confirmed case and have symptoms, you should call your GP or 1800 020 080.
We look forward to working with you through the challenges ahead and wish you all the very best to stay healthy and well.
Regards,
Stavros and the HUME Family.
