Product Information

Wet Area Base Coat is a heavy weight pre-mixed, low VOC jointing compound with excellent tape adhesion to provide joint strength. Used for the first and second coat in a three-coat jointing system, its moisture resistance makes it the perfect choice for joints in wet areas.

Gyprock Wet Area Base Coat is ideal for joints in moisture resistant systems such as bathrooms, wet areas and laundries. It is suitable for the tape coat and second coat in a three-coat plasterboard jointing system for residential and commercial walls and ceilings. Wet Area Base Coat is the recommended product when jointing Fibre Cement sheets or AFS Logicwall. To achieve the ultimate joint finish, it is recommended Wet Area Base Coat is used in conjunction with Gyprock Topping or All-Purpose compounds. No topping compound is required if Wet Area Base is being used as a substrate for tiles.
